Just a quick post to let you guys know I'm having a little pattern sale at my Etsy shop. All my pdf sewing patterns are on sale at $5 each. Until 25th June 10pm Singapore time.

It's not my birthday

It's NOT my birthday but I feel like it's my birthday already. More on that later.

Guess who turned a year older? It's my sweet hub. Last night me and the kids stayed up late waiting for him to come home from work to wish him a Happy Birthday. He was surprised!

That explains why this morning we woke up very late. Me and girl went to buy the smallest cake we could find. (son was still zzzz) The best part of birthdays - the presents!

I read in hubs blog he pined for a Spider Spud. So I got him exactly what he wanted. I haven't bought anything from Toys R Us for a long time so I was quite shocked by how pricey toys are. It's ridiculous. Isn't there a law against such high prices? I almost bought myself a doll - the one you get to dress up the hair? But it cost as much as what I sell my big bag. So I wisely put it back.

Son got him a wallet.

The wallet came in a very nice box. There was a bonus in the box - a penknife! I don't understand the penknife. Is it something a man needs? Under what circumstances would it come in useful? Oh, guess who gets the BOX? Moi, moi, moi! Happy Birthday to me already.

And my birthday came early yesterday. A package came all the way from Indiana. It's from Suzee who blogs at Applehead Threads. She sent me some bits and bobs. Thank you Suzee. I was very surprised.

One of the items she sent - a cardholder. I had been using my dirty pigs cardholder but it ran out of room. So I'll use hers to house the frequently used cards. It has a lot of room. Notice how there are too many reward cards nowadays? Imagine needing a separate wallet for them. In my case, I need 2.

Tomorrow maybe we'll go to Outback so the birthday boy could get his fill of meat. He had to work on his birthday! I'll see you in a while.

I Miss

I miss making bags without thinking about how much effort I'm pouring into each one and how much I intend to price them.

Bags like these. A ton of work but so much freedom and fun.

It's crazy hot and humid in Singapore. We had pretty good weather last year and early this year. So good I forgot how hot Singapore can get. Searingly hot. Scorchingly hot. I feel sorry for anyone with skin conditions living here now. Must be hell.

I'm finding it very hard to work on my ePatterns while balancing making bags for my craft market. Maybe it's the heat. Maybe I just feel I can't do it. Not this moment.

This week I put in a few days' worth of work in my ePatterns and I'm all done with the technical portions. But I've decided to put it on hold as I'm feeling anxious about my next craft market. I haven't put in the necessary effort to sew my ass off. I feel this year my priorities are a little screwed. I want to work on my ePatterns but I also signed up for so many craft markets. When I work on my ePatterns, I need 100% concentration and be in the zone. All the disruptions just means I lose time in the continuity. So no work on my ePatterns until my next craft market is over which is end of this month. I will take a break from craft markets until September. During the break, I will see how many ePatterns I can complete. Well, that's the plan.

At the past craft markets, a few customers wanted pouches without zippers. I'm like wtf! I slave over the zippers and they don't want zippers. So I made two pouches without zippers but I included a flap. Nothing spectacular about these clutches but I deliberately made the flap a little over sized. Oh, I wanted to put the handle on the right side but when I made the Houses one, the temperature soared and the humidity reached 80%. Yep, I'm blaming my "error" on the weather.
