Hi,
Today is a public holiday in Singapore. It's called Good Friday. I love public holidays for only one reason. To sleep in. This "morning" I woke up at noon after a completely satisfying 12 hour sleep.
Last night I had a cup of chamomile tea an hour before I slept. Based on past experience, it knocked me out. And it did. I'm beginning to wonder if chamomile tea contains drugs. Tonight I will go to sleep via sheer exhaustion without the aid of any tea.
If you are on Pinterest and a tea drinker, you might be interested to know I keep a pinboard of my tea. To find me on Pinterest, go here. This board has, to my surprise, received a couple of repins.
I might be jumping the gun here but I think the tiny bit of weight loss this week is mainly due to my switch from sugared tea to non-sugared tea. So far I've been able to stick to my 1 cup of sugared coffee and 1 cup of sugared tea a day. Ideally I'd like to have just 1 cup of sugared tea a day. I shall be patient.
Today is a non-sewing day for me because I wanted to clean my home. I spent the whole day wiping, throwing away clutter and mopping. I'll probably continue doing that once I get off my blog.
Oh, you know what? I'm getting a new found motivation with this daily blogging. The first quarter of this year I really started to question my life. Like is this it? Is this all I'll ever do? Why don't I make any progress. And so on. You know, the kind of stuff you ask yourself when you feel you're in a rut.
I know it's only been a week since I started blogging daily but I feel so much more energized and full of purpose. Let's hope this high energy doesn't fizzle out.
Back to today. I wanted to find out the history behind Good Friday and there seems to be so much literature on it on the net. Um, too much to be able to get a good idea. But I know the bunnies are related to Easter.
I wondered if a bunny would look good running across my iPhone zip pouch.
I wondered what life was like before the invention of fusible interface.
I wondered what a polka dotted bunny would look like.
And I wondered what these bunnies are so happy about?
Thanks to Kandipandi's blog post, I have discovered PicMonkey an online photo editor similar to Picnik. The above 4 photos were edited using PicMonkey.
This one I edited with Picnik. I have to say I still prefer Picnik. But PicMonkey will have to do after April 19. Yes, the day Picnik DIES. Google, you bastard.......
Enjoy your long weekend if you're having one. See ya.

To pee or not to pee, that is the question
Hi,
Thursday already! I'm so glad I'm blogging daily so I can review my week easily. I think so far I'm on track but I'd like to spend less time playing games and watching TV. If I could clock 8 hours working on my projects, I would be so much more productive.
Remember in a post sometime ago, I mentioned that I had bought some ZIG fabric pens from Art Friend. Yes, the one time I wanted to redeem a $5 voucher. Today I decided to see if I could use them in one way or another in my pouches.
I'm still working at using up the rest of my linen remnants. What's left is small odd amount here and there. Perfect for an iPhone zip pouch! What do you think? I used 2 colours - blue and brown because I'm still hooked on the blue bird thingy. By the way, the fabric ink cannot be removed from the fabric so I drew very carefully. This pen is pretty good. It has a brush like tip on one end and a felt tip on the other. How did I get so lucky? I really just bought the pens on a whim. I had never even heard of ZIG. I had used Lyra textile marker before and did not like them at all. I think the pen tip was too fat. So I felt clumsy.
At first I wanted to include some embroidery. My idea was to sew a few lazy daisy stitches on the wings. But I resisted. Kind of want to keep it simple. You know me. I don't like complicated designs. So I coloured the wings blue. I love it!
By the way, the 2 birds are dating. No, it's not the "never been kissed" bird from the Redwork batch. I have more ideas for my ZIG pens but I'll probably work on them next week.
Here's the finished zip pouch. I have listed it on Etsy. Check it out here. And for those who are new to my blog, this zip pouch was made using my ePattern here.
Speaking of iPhone zip pouches, I have a VivoCity Craft Market trivia for you. This happened on Saturday.
This cross-stitch print iPhone zip pouch was the cause. Before I tell you the story, I have to explain how a sale transaction is handled at VivoCity Craft Market. First I write out an invoice for the customer. It states the item product codes and price. The customer takes the invoice to the cashier and pays. She gets a receipt which she gives to me. I check the receipt and give the bought item to the customer.
On Saturday, I gave the customer the invoice and directed her to the cashier which is just a few steps away. She wanted to withdraw cash first and there is a cash machine a few steps away from the cashier. Easy peasy.
Thing is I kept waiting for the customer to give me the receipt and she did not show up. In the past, I had 1 customer who took an hour to return because he was busy shopping at the other stalls at the craft market. So I wasn't worried.
And so I kept waiting and waiting. I was so sure she would return. No one had ever not returned with the receipt. The system works. And then I had to pee.
Now when you have the urge to pee, it's rarely a "Maybe I need to pee?". It's always a
I HAVE TO PEE NOW.
But I was still waiting for the customer to return. So I held on. And I held on. At first holding on was doable. Then it became all I could think of. I did not want to leave and run the risk of the customer coming back finding me gone. Neither did I want to get my neighbouring vendors to help me. The ones on my left were handicapped and I'm guessing had enough to deal with. The one on my right I was not familiar with. Oh well. It was my choice to hold on. No one held a gun to my head.
Finally it was no longer an option to hold on. The tide was too strong! I made a dash for the ladies and am happy to report I did not pee on myself.
And no, the customer did not return. Not that night. Not the following day. I'm a good person. Why do I get such customers? Is it so hard to come back and tell me she had a change of heart?
Good nite. I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. First time since Chinese New Year!!!

Waking up thin
Hello,
I woke up this morning feeling very thin. I was so delighted. I almost wanted to rush out to the supermarket to buy a cake to eat. (to celebrate) Then I realised that what I was feeling was just hunger. Demmit.
I've been doing good with my diet. My caffeine intake has become stable. I no longer drink excessive amount of tea. By the way, green tea sucks. It tastes like puke. But I will continue to drink it. It's healthy, right? You know how I know it's healthy? It tastes like puke.
Oh, I've cut out diary too. Except for plain yogurt. I take yogurt for wellness. I can't believe I used the word wellness. It sounds like a word a very old person would use. Or a word someone who works at a spa would use. Or a word someone selling health supplements would use. Or a word someone selling a multi-level-marketing scheme would use. I don't even like to eat yogurt. It tastes like puke. I have to force myself to eat yogurt. I eat it with apples. Otherwise it just tastes like plain puke.
So no milk and no cheese for me. Later I will allow myself milk and cheese once a week. These two food items are headache triggers for me. I am a person with many sensitivities.
Yesterday was my get-thin day. My food strategy this week is to eat regular meals and alternate with get-thin meals. That way I won't feel deprived and indulge in fattening food.
This is what I cooked for myself yesterday. Porridge with sweet potato, shredded chicken, baby carrots and white mushrooms. My family runs screaming away when they see this porridge. I love to eat this porridge. The only problem with eating porridge is an hour later you're starving to death. I had 2 bowls for lunch and 1 bowl for dinner. And that's why I woke up thin.
For lunch today, I got to eat regular food. We tried the newly opened 1983 cafe near my home. I ordered the Special Nasi Lemak. It is basically rice with fried chicken, fried fish and chilli. Usually it comes with coconut flavoured rice. But I asked for white rice as coconut is a migraine trigger for me. The portions are generous except for the fish. If I were to catch a fish this tiny, I would throw it back into the sea. The Nasi Lemak costs $4.80 excluding drinks. I tried a new drink called Buah Long Long. It tastes like star fruit juice and it comes with a little sour plum. But since it's called Buah Long Long, then the juice must be from the Buah Long Long fruit.
Oh, this meal is so filling I could skip dinner totally. But I won't. I'll just have a little sandwich.
Today I worked on my ePattern. I have a little confession to make. I had already completed my ePattern like weeks ago. The thing is I was reading this blog and the blogger was gushing over a newly released ePattern by someone else. The shape of the pouch was almost identical to mine. I had actually tried very hard to use a shape that I thought was not widely used. Even the name of the pouch is the same! What are the odds? So that's why I'm reworking the ePattern.
My fitness program has not kicked off yet. My heart is willing but my butt is unwilling.
p.s. Thanks to everyone who leave comments here in my blog and over at facebook. I know it takes effort to leave comments so I appreciate it.
